Most shoe brands do not pay enough attention to slippers, as the design and manufacturing of these products has remained largely unchanged for decades. RockDove's mission is to modernize the world's most neglected shoe.

The company experiments with innovative fabrics used in performance footwear and applies design principles from fashion shoemaking. The RockDove Story

RockDove was created in 2002 for five birdwatchers of the Los Angeles Audubon Society, who were the company's customers when it was a beachside workshop in Santa Monica, California that resoled hiking boots. After 15 years of protecting the feet of adventurers, the customers asked for quality indoor shoes to soothe their high-mileage, trail-weary feet.

In response, RockDove handmade five pairs of slippers as an experiment, using a low-cut boot last. When the company sent out a newsletter about the experiment, they received 350 mail orders, leading them to name the slippers after the rock dove (pigeon), a memento of their origins.

RockDove's legacy of creating footwear for the most exhausted, adventure-weary feet continues to this day. However, the company recognizes that adventure comes in many forms, not just outdoor pursuits. The Sweet Spot Comfort Level

RockDove's quest for the perfect comfort level led them to become one of the earliest adopters of high-density memory foam in slippers. After experimenting with mattress foam and collaborating with local sleep experts, they developed a multilayered foam construction that offers the ideal balance of incredible comfort and firm support.
